Emil Heyerdahl: A Racing Driver Website Built to Win Sponsors

Emil Heyerdahl has spent over 15 years earning his place in motorsport. From his early years in Norwegian karting through to competing in the ADAC GT4 Germany series, he had the results, the experience, and the dedication that sponsors look for in a driver.

What he didn't have was a website that showed any of it.

The brief

Emil came to us with a clear problem: he was approaching potential sponsors and team principals with PDFs and social media profiles. It was doing the job, but only just. Serious motorsport sponsorship decisions involve serious due diligence - and a driver without a professional web presence is a driver who looks like he's still trying to make it rather than one who already has.

He needed:

  • A website that conveyed the gravity and drama of motorsport at first glance
  • A clear, structured sponsorship page that answered the questions every commercial partner asks
  • A downloadable driver CV that could be accessed from any device
  • A personal brand that could grow with him across future seasons

What we built

We designed and built a bespoke one-driver website with a dark, cinematic visual language - deep blacks, sharp typography, and high-contrast photography that puts Emil's track record centre stage.

The site structure was built around the two key audiences: potential sponsors and team decision-makers.

For sponsors, we built a dedicated sponsorship page that lays out reach, visibility, and the commercial case for backing Emil - clearly and without them needing to ask. A prominent CTA sits at the top and repeats throughout the page, making it easy to take the next step.

For teams, the driver CV section presents Emil's full career history in a clean, scannable format with a one-click PDF download. No hunting through PDFs or LinkedIn timelines.

Personal branding ran through every decision - the typeface, the tone of the copy, the way stats were presented. The result is a site that feels like Emil, not a generic athlete template.

What made the difference

Three decisions drove the quality of the outcome.

Designing for the audience, not the driver. It's tempting to build a motorsport website as a showcase. But sponsors aren't there to be wowed - they're there to evaluate. We structured every page around the questions they actually ask and made the answers impossible to miss.

Dark design done with discipline. A dramatic dark aesthetic can easily tip into being hard to read or unprofessional. We kept the layout clean and the hierarchy tight - drama in the visuals, clarity in the structure.

Treating the CV as a product. Most driver CVs are an afterthought. We designed Emil's as a proper document - formatted, branded, and downloadable in a single click from any device. It's become one of the most-used assets on the site.
